In March of 2010 a good friend and fellow Scouter Ray Sirois (N1RY) convinced me follow up on a 25 year interest in Amateur Radio by testing for my license. In April of 2010 I passed my Technician's exam and was issued the call sign KB1UDB buy the FCC. I immediately submitted a request for the vanity call of N1AJB and that call went live on May 5, 2010. In June of 2010 another Scouter and friend Paul Gooch (KY1C) encouraged me to accelerate my testing preparation so I could take my General Class exam in Farmington. Thanks to that effort I passed my general class exam on June 28, 2010.
